Púca (A4 and A3 Fine Art Prints - Hand Finished)

from €49.50

The púca is a shapeshifting creature from Irish folklore, often associated with rural areas and harvest-time. Wild, black horses with flowing manes and flaming eyes were the most common form of these mischievous creatures, but they could also take the form of goats, cats, foxes, wolves, and many other animals, or take a human form with some of their animal characteristics intact, e.g. their ears. They can bring good luck or bad, depending on their inclination.

Framed image is for illustrative purposes only - all prints are supplied unframed.

This is a gallery-quality giclée art print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm heavy textured paper with a white border, printed in Ireland and shipped in eco-friendly packaging sourced from sustainable Irish wholesalers. The background circular disc is hand-finished with gold paint.

Hahnemühle German Etching paper is a traditional mould-made copperplate printing paper, complete with a giclée coating. The white art paper made from 100% alpha cellulose is characterised by its extraordinary velvety tactile feel and its fine, clearly defined felt structure. It is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance.
