Irish Crafts - The Uilleann Piper / Community Crafts / Textile Makers (A4 and A3 Fine Art Prints)
This trio of pieces was a collaboration with Dublin Maker as a way of celebrating both the history and continued relevance of traditional Irish crafts and their makers. The original pieces were hand-drawn using graphite to reflect the hand-made nature of the crafts depicted in the works, and these reproduction prints illustrate how the process of making fills various roles, from something the individual makes and enjoys for their own pleasure, to items where their creation brings a community together. Traditional crafts are as vibrant and relevant to modern Ireland and its people as they were in the past, and will continue to grow and evolve with us.
The first work is the process of making a set of uilleann pipes through to playing them, the second features communities gathering to partake in traditional crafts, including quilting, currach building, and making “the straws” for the Wren, and the third features many hands at work at a variety of textile crafts.

This is a gallery-quality giclée art print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm heavy textured paper with a white border, printed in Ireland and shipped in eco-friendly packaging sourced from sustainable Irish wholesalers.
Hahnemühle German Etching paper is a traditional mould-made copperplate printing paper, complete with an giclée coating. The white art paper made from 100% alpha cellulose is characterised by its extraordinary velvety tactile feel and its fine, clearly defined felt structure. It is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance.
